LeeAnne Barbara - I was teaching in March of 2020 when COVID hit and forced the closure of schools nationwide. I witnessed first-hand the negative impact that shutdown had on our kids mentally, socially, and academically. My passion is working with this age group and helping them discover healthy coping skills as they navigate their way through our “new normal” since COVID. While I’m relatively new to my role as a Mental Health Counselor and am currently completing my final practicum and internships for a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling, I have over 25 years of experience in public education (as a classroom teacher in all grade levels) and early childhood education. I also hold a Master’s of Education in Elementary Education, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature. I am originally from North Carolina and have 4 children. In my free time, I love to journal/scrapbook, create hand-lettered art, read, bake, and go camping.

Michael Ross - I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Lewis Clark State College and I have been a licensed counselor (agency affiliated) since 1995. I have worked in positions that include Teachers Assistant, JSRO Security Officer, Residential Counselor, Case Manager, Supervisor, Program Manager, and now School Based Mental Health Counseling. Over my 28 years of working with kids, I have worked in children’s home societies, DSHS, BGC, and school systems. Through most of my career, I worked with troubled youth in both locked and unlocked juvenile facilities ranging in ages from 10-21+ with crimes as serious as robbery, assault, drugs, kidnapping and even murder. Working in the Tribal community is near to my heart and I truly believe that prevention is key to helping kids. My main goal is to be there for the kids and to develop trust so no matter what the situation is, they can talk to me. I believe in them and encourage them to talk things out, work through their feelings, and consider alternatives. I hope to make a difference and to guide them in improving self-confidence, self-esteem, and overall social skills. Hobbies I enjoy are family time, fishing, camping, and basketball.
