Emergency Financial Assistance Loan Program (EFAL)

Emergency Financial Assistance Loan (EFAL) Program is a Tribal program designed to financially assist Tribal members in times of hardship. Please expand the menus below for information on specific circumstances in which we may grant loans, what additional verification might be needed and office hours for staff processing applications.

    • A Colville tribal member traveling to be at the bedside of their immediate family member (defined in resolution 2016-411) who is in critical condition

    • A Colville tribal member traveling 90 miles away or more (or 180 miles round trip) to attend the funeral of an immediate family member

    • A Colville tribal member experiencing a total loss due to a house fire

    • A Colville tribal member with a chronic illness traveling 90 miles away or more (or 180 miles round trip) for repeat appointments. Will require denial from other resources when applicable, such as People for People, Tribal Health, Special Mobility, etc. 

        * This applies to certain chronic illnesses, applications and diagnoses required to determine eligibility

  • Additional forms, confirmation, and verifications will also be required along with the application. Under certain circumstances, leeway may be offered to allow for additional time to submit paperwork. While this program was designed as a loan program, there are certain criteria that an applicant might meet to qualify for a no-payback loan.

  • Important note: Emergency assistance can only be offered during normal business hours, Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM. During weekends, please feel free to call and leave a voicemail or complete the application online. We will try to offer assistance wherever possible, but initial contact must be made.

A release of information may be required to obtain information outside of our office and/or outside of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation.

Applications must be submitted by the individual requesting assistance. Assistance will not be provided to members on another person's behalf.
